Sublease Agreement in Alabama
For a tenant renting their unit, or part of it, to a subtenant. Most leases require the landlord's written consent first — get it, and attach it.
What Alabama law says
| Subletting rules | No statute — lease controls. The Alabama Uniform Residential Landlord and Tenant Act does not set a consent standard for subletting or assignment. A tenant who sublets is treated as a landlord of the subtenant under the Act. Source: Ala. Code ch. 35-9A; § 35-9A-141 |
