Vehicle Bill of Sale in Arkansas
A record of a private car, truck or motorcycle sale between a seller and a buyer. Many states transfer ownership through the signed title itself and use a bill of sale as proof of the price and date. Check your state's rules below: some require a specific DMV form or a notary.
What Arkansas law says
| Selling a vehicle: bill of sale and title | To title and register a vehicle bought from a private seller, Arkansas DFA asks for the current title signed by both seller and buyer and a bill of sale showing the VIN, date of sale, purchase price, and both signatures; an odometer statement may also be needed. DFA says a buyer has 60 days from the date of purchase to register the vehicle, with a $3.00 penalty for each 10 days it goes unregistered and a 10% penalty on sales tax due. The DFA pages reviewed do not mention notarization; DFA offers a Vehicle Bill of Sale / Odometer Disclosure Statement form. |
