Pomona Landlord-Tenant Rules
Pomona adds local rules on top of California landlord-tenant law. Here is what is different, with the city code or agency page behind each rule.
| Rent control | Pomona has a local rent stabilization ordinance that limits rent increases on covered units more strictly than state law. The California Attorney General's chart of local rent laws (last updated August 1, 2025) lists it at Pomona City Code Sec. 30-571 and following, and said the City was about to vote on changes to the maximum rent increase that would take effect in January 2026. Tenants should check the City's Rent Stabilization Program for the current cap, covered units and eviction rules.
