Rent Receipt in Colorado
A simple rent receipt to give a tenant for each payment — especially cash. Some states require a receipt for cash rent; check your state below.
What Colorado law says
| Rent receipts | For in-person payments by cash or money order: always, at the time of payment, showing the amount paid and the date. For other payments: on request, within 7 days, showing the amount paid, the recipient and the date, unless an existing procedure already gives the tenant a record with that information. An electronic receipt is allowed unless the tenant asks for paper, and a receipt may be part of a billing statement. Source: C.R.S. § 38-12-802 |
