Jury Duty Excuse Letter in Idaho

A short letter asking the court to excuse you from jury duty or postpone it. Follow the instructions on your summons first, because courts handle these requests differently, and keep following the summons until the court answers.

What Idaho law says

Who can be excused from jury dutyIdaho's courts say you may be able to ask for a postponement or be excused from jury service, and the instructions come with your summons and may vary by court. Courts may postpone or excuse you if childcare affects your ability to serve. Jurors who need assistance can ask for a reasonable accommodation through the court's ADA Coordinator. Jurors must be at least 18.
This page does not give a full list of excuse grounds and does not address age-based excuses, recent service or military service.
Jury duty pay and your jobIdaho employers may not fire, threaten or penalize an employee because of jury service. Jurors are entitled to at least $5 per half day or $10 per full day, plus mileage from home to the courthouse at the county's employee rate.
This page does not say whether employers must pay wages during service, and names no statute or employer penalty.
