What Idaho law says

Ending a month-to-month leaseTenancy at will: landlord must give written notice of at least one month to vacate; tenant must give written notice at least one month before the stated move-out date. For residential leases, at least 30 days' written notice is also required before a rent increase or non-renewal takes effect.
How notices must be deliveredEviction notices (3-day notices) must be served by: (1) handing a copy to the tenant personally; or (2) if the tenant is absent from home and work, leaving a copy with a person of suitable age and discretion at either place AND mailing a copy to the tenant's residence; or (3) if those places can't be found or no suitable person is there, posting a copy conspicuously on the property, delivering a copy to a person living there if one can be found, AND mailing a copy to the tenant at the property. Termination of a tenancy at will requires written notice served in the manner the code of civil procedure prescribes. No statute authorizes e-mail or text notice.
