Sublease Agreement in Kansas
For a tenant renting their unit, or part of it, to a subtenant. Most leases require the landlord's written consent first — get it, and attach it.
What Kansas law says
| Subletting rules | A tenant whose term is two years or less (or who is a tenant at will or by sufferance) may not assign or transfer the lease, or any part of it, without the landlord's written consent. The statute sets no reasonableness standard for the landlord's decision. The lease may give the tenant broader rights to sublet or assign. Source: K.S.A. 58-2511 |
