What Kentucky law says
| Notice before a rent increase | No statute — Kentucky sets no specific advance notice for rent increases. In URLTA areas, a month-to-month tenancy may be ended with written notice at least 30 days before the periodic rental date (7 days for week-to-week), so a landlord changing terms generally gives at least that much notice (KRS 383.695). Outside URLTA areas, a tenancy at will ends on 1 month's written notice (KRS 383.195). Since 2024, local ordinances may not conflict with state landlord-tenant law (KRS 383.198). |

| Rent control / increase limits | Preempted: only the General Assembly may enact rent control on private property; local governments may not. No statewide cap. Source: KRS 65.875 |
