Nonpayment evictions start with a Petition of Landlord for Recovery of Rent and/or Possession; the clerk sets a court date on filing (the clerk's page says within 21 business days). If the summons is served only by posting and the tenant does not appear, the court can award possession but not a money judgment. If a tenant does not leave after a judgment for possession, the landlord files an execution and the Sheriff's Office enforces it.
