Warranty Deed in Nebraska

A warranty deed transfers real estate with the seller's promise that the title is good. Before you record it, check your state's signing and recording rules below and your county recorder's formatting rules (margins, preparer and return-address blocks, transfer-tax forms) — recorders reject deeds that miss them.

What Nebraska law says

Signing and recording a deedA deed must be signed by the grantor and be acknowledged or proved and recorded as the recording statutes direct. When a deed is presented for recording, the grantee must file a completed real estate transfer statement prescribed by the Tax Commissioner; the register of deeds will not record the deed without it. The state documentary stamp tax is paid by the grantor at $3.32 per $1,000 of value (or fraction) for transfers before January 1, 2032, and $2.32 per $1,000 on or after that date, unless an exemption applies.
