North Carolina Notice to End a Month-to-Month Tenancy Template

What a North Carolina notice to end a month-to-month tenancy must include under North Carolina law, and a fill-in draft that follows those rules.

What North Carolina law requires

Month-to-month: notice to quit at least 7 days before the end of the current rental period. Week-to-week: 2 days. Year-to-year: one month or more before the end of the year. Manufactured home lot rentals: at least 60 days before the end of the current rental period, whatever the term. The statute does not specify required wording or a delivery method.

Fill-in draft

Replace every [bracketed] item. If your state or city requires specific wording, a specific form, or a translated version, that requirement controls over this draft. Courts dismiss eviction cases over defective notices — if anything is unclear, talk to a lawyer.
