Sublease Agreement in Oklahoma

For a tenant renting their unit, or part of it, to a subtenant. Most leases require the landlord's written consent first — get it, and attach it.

What Oklahoma law says

Subletting rulesA tenant with a term of 2 years or less, or a tenant at will or by sufferance, may not assign or transfer the tenancy or any part of it without the landlord's written consent. The statute sets no 'reasonableness' standard for consent. If the tenant violates this, the landlord may give 10 days' notice to quit and then retake possession from the tenant and any subtenant.
Leases longer than 2 years are governed by their own terms.
