Sublease Agreement in Texas
For a tenant renting their unit, or part of it, to a subtenant. Most leases require the landlord's written consent first — get it, and attach it.
What Texas law says
| Subletting rules | During the lease term, a tenant may not sublet (rent the leasehold to anyone else) without the landlord's prior consent. The statute sets no reasonableness standard for the landlord's decision, so consent is at the landlord's discretion unless the lease says otherwise. Source: Tex. Prop. Code § 91.005 |
