Move-In / Move-Out Checklist in Vermont
Record the condition of each room on move-in and again on move-out, with photos. It is the best evidence in a security deposit dispute. Some states require a move-in condition form.
What Vermont law says
| Itemized deductions | Required: written itemized statement of the reasons for any amount withheld, sent with any balance within 14 days. Source: 9 V.S.A. 4461(c) |
