Each state's official child support guideline calculator or worksheet, from the state child support agency or court.
| State | Official child support calculator |
|---|---|
| Alabama | Alabama does not offer an online calculator; child support is figured with the Rule 32 guidelines worksheet published by the Alabama Administrative Office of Courts. Use Form CS-42 (Child Support Guidelines, effective May 1, 2022) for standard cases or Form CS-42-S (effective June 1, 2023) for shared custody, each available as a PDF or Excel worksheet, along with Form CS-41 (income statement/affidavit) and Form CS-43 (notice of compliance). The court sets the final support amount. Alabama Administrative Office of Courts, Child Support Forms (Rule 32, Ala. R. Jud. Admin.) |
| Alaska | Alaska child support is set under Civil Rule 90.3 using each parent's income, the number of children, overnights with each parent and the custody type. The Alaska Court System Self-Help Center lists the forms: Child Support Guidelines Affidavit (DR-305, needed in all cases), plus DR-306 (shared custody), DR-307 (divided custody) and DR-308 (hybrid custody) calculation forms. The Child Support Services Division (CSSD/CSED) also offers an online calculator that estimates support for primary custody only; the court page notes that neither the court nor CSED is bound by the calculator's results, and other factors can change the amount. Alaska Court System Self-Help Center, Child Support (Civil Rule 90.3) |
| Arizona | The Arizona Judicial Branch points parents to the 2022 Child Support Calculators (hosted by the Maricopa County Superior Court law library), which apply to orders entered after January 1, 2022, unless there is a default or the parties agree otherwise. There are two versions: an interview-style tool for self-represented litigants and an Excel version for judges, attorneys and others familiar with the guidelines. Older 2018-2021 calculators are kept for recomputing earlier orders. The court says the result "is only an estimate," and "The court has the final authority to determine the amount of child support awarded." Arizona Judicial Branch, Which Child Support Calculator Should I Use |
| Arkansas | The Arkansas Administrative Office of the Courts publishes Child Support Calculator v2.0, which applies the Arkansas Child Support Guidelines effective July 1, 2020 and produces a Child Support Worksheet you can save as a PDF or print (for non-joint custodial arrangements). Arkansas Administrative Office of the Courts, Child Support Calculator v2.0 |

California Child Support Services, Guideline Calculator |
| Colorado | The Colorado Judicial Branch's "Calculate Support Payments" self-help page directs people to the Family Law Software child support and maintenance calculator, which runs in a web browser and produces printable worksheets (create an account and select Colorado; the page says not to click "Free Trial"). Connecticut Judicial Branch, Worksheet for the Connecticut Child Support and Arrearage Guidelines (CCSG-1) |
| Delaware | The Family Court of the State of Delaware publishes a Child Support Calculator based on the Delaware Child Support Formula (the Melson Formula), offered online, as an automated Excel file and as a manual worksheet, with instructions (Form 509i) in English and Spanish. The formula was revised effective February 1, 2026 (Family Court Civil Rules 500-510) and is a rebuttable presumption: the court adopts its result unless it finds the result contrary to the child's best interest or unfair to the parties. Every support order, including consent orders, must have a support calculation attached. A Family Court mediator uses the formula to calculate support; if parents do not agree, a temporary order may issue and a Commissioner holds a hearing. The Florida Department of Revenue Child Support Program notes that online calculators can estimate support but are for informational purposes only, that the court or agency establishing support must use the guidelines, and that amounts can be higher or lower in special circumstances. You create a free account ("Signup"), log in and start a worksheet; you do not need to be an attorney. The calculator figures a presumptive amount from the Basic Child Support Obligation and your entries; deviations (Schedule E) can raise or lower it and are subject to the judge's discretion, so the court or jury decides the final amount. Commonwealth of Kentucky, Kentucky Child Support, Estimate Support Disclaimer |
| Louisiana | The Louisiana Department of Children & Family Services (DCFS) offers the Louisiana Child Support Estimator, with two online worksheets: a standard Child Support Worksheet and a Child Support Worksheet (Shared Custody). DCFS says the tool gives "an idea of how much money you might need to pay or get," that what you see "are not the official court records and might not be correct," that it is not a replacement for talking to a lawyer, and that "the Judge has the power to decide how much money needs to be paid." Adjusted gross income is gross income minus taxes, Social Security and mandatory retirement/disability contributions and existing court-ordered support for other children (and possibly an amount for other children living with the parent), divided by 12. The guidelines are a rebuttable presumption; the court or agency may depart from them with a written or on-the-record finding that they would be unjust or inappropriate.
