Aurora Landlord-Tenant Rules
Aurora adds local rules on top of Colorado landlord-tenant law. Here is what is different, with the city code or agency page behind each rule.
| Rental registration/inspection | Aurora's Multi-Family Systematic Housing Inspection Program, run by Housing and Community Services, inspects apartment properties unit by unit, along with common areas, halls and exteriors, against the city Housing Code. The owner or manager gets an inspection report with a reinspection date at least 30 days out. Reinspections continue until all problems are fixed, and administrative fees apply. Imminent hazards, such as blocked exits, exposed wiring, no heat, gas leaks or broken smoke detectors, need a response within 24 hours. Units must hold 70 F measured 3 feet above the floor, and hot water must be at least 120 F. Program questions: 303-739-7280. The city code chapter was not shown on the page.
