New Jersey Notice to Pay Rent or Quit Template
What a New Jersey notice to pay rent or quit must include under New Jersey law, and a fill-in draft that follows those rules.
What New Jersey law requires
No notice to quit or pay-or-quit notice is required before filing a nonpayment case. The written-notice requirement for evictions expressly excludes nonpayment of rent (and failure to pay a valid rent increase). The tenant can stop the case by paying the rent claimed plus costs on or before final judgment, or within 3 business days after a warrant of removal is posted or a lockout occurs.

Fill-in draft
Replace every [bracketed] item. If your state or city requires specific wording, a specific form, or a translated version, that requirement controls over this draft. Courts dismiss eviction cases over defective notices — if anything is unclear, talk to a lawyer.
