What New Mexico law says

For a fixed-term lease, the notice is required at least 30 days before the term ends. For periodic residencies shorter than a month, notice is required at least one rental period before the first increased payment. Since June 20, 2025, increases to lease fees need 60 days' written notice (one rental period for residencies under a month).
Rent control / increase limitsStatewide preemption: no political subdivision or home-rule municipality may enact rent control on privately owned real property.
