Warranty Deed in Oregon
A warranty deed transfers real estate with the seller's promise that the title is good. Before you record it, check your state's signing and recording rules below and your county recorder's formatting rules (margins, preparer and return-address blocks, transfer-tax forms) — recorders reject deeds that miss them.
What Oregon law says
| Signing and recording a deed | A deed must be signed by the grantor (or the grantor's lawful agent) and acknowledged before a notary public or a listed judge; no seal is required, and the statutes do not call for witnesses. A deed transferring fee title must include the land-use warning statement set out in ORS 93.040. The deed is then recorded with the county clerk. Source: ORS 93.010, 93.410, 93.040 |
