What Wyoming law says

Deposit return deadlineWithin 30 days after the rental agreement ends, or within 15 days after the landlord receives the renter's new mailing address, whichever is later. If the unit is damaged, the deadline is extended by 30 days.
Itemized deductionsLandlord must deliver or mail a written itemization of deductions, with reasons, together with any balance. Allowed deductions: accrued rent, damage beyond reasonable wear and tear, the cost of cleaning to move-in condition, and other costs provided by contract.
Penalty for withholdingIf the owner unreasonably fails to comply, the renter may recover the full deposit plus court costs. If the owner wins and the court finds the renter's suit unreasonable, the owner may be awarded court costs.
Wear and tear / move-out chargesNot defined by statute. The deposit may be applied to accrued rent, damage beyond 'reasonable wear and tear,' the cost to clean the unit to its condition at the beginning of the rental agreement, and other costs provided by contract. The renter must leave the unit cleaned to its move-in condition. Deductions must be itemized in writing with reasons. Painting and carpet charges are not specifically addressed.
