Demand Letter in Alaska

A demand letter asks someone to pay or fix a problem before you go to small claims court. Many judges expect one, and it is useful evidence. Your state's small claims limit and fee are shown below.

What Alaska law says

Small claims limit	$10,000. A party with a larger claim may waive the excess in writing and proceed in small claims. Actions to recover real property (such as evictions) and lien foreclosure actions cannot be brought as small claims (Dist. Ct. Civ. R. 8(c)).
