County tenant ordinance

Miami-Dade County's Tenant's Bill of Rights (Ord. No. 22-47, adopted May 3, 2022) is codified as County Code Ch. 17, Art. XIV, Secs. 17-171 to 17-180 (the ordinance numbered it Art. XIII, but the code editor placed it in Art. XIV because Art. XIII already existed). The article is still printed in the current County Code (Sept. 23, 2026 version) with no repeal noted, but it should be treated as no longer enforceable: since July 1, 2023, Florida Statutes § 83.425 (ch. 2023-314, Laws of Fla.) preempts to the state the regulation of residential tenancies, the landlord-tenant relationship and all matters covered by the Florida Residential Landlord and Tenant Act, and supersedes local rules on those matters, including notice requirements, lease terms, landlord fees and disclosures.
